Look out on top!

The drop is steep and definitely life threatening if someone missteps. If hiking with littles, I recommend going first! Otherwise, the trail was easy-moderate and the views are fantastic!! Just use caution at the top. Happy Trailing!

Barred Owl Sighting

I parked at the Colcord Pond Bald Ledge Trailhead and walked down Colcord Pond Road, to Breakneck Hill Road to Moody Road, (with a peek at the Porter Heath) to Snake Road to Devil's Den. I returned on the Devil's Den trail to Moody Road, then back the way I came. There was a barred owl hooting east of Devil's Den while I was up there.

Sweeping views from a summit ledge (1,185 feet)

While it goes uphill, the incline is not too steep (the elevation gained is 250 feet). About 100 feet from the top, you’ll pass a short side trail to your right that leads to the den. Be very careful! The drop-offs are sudden and steep.
